Central Valley Credit Counseling Company Being Acquired

ByDesign Financial Solutions is being acquired by ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions of Richmond, Va., effective May 1.
ByDesign is a nonprofit organization that offers its services in the Central Valley as Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Central Valley and Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Sacramento Valley.
It has offices in Fresno, Stockton, Modesto, Merced, Sacramento and Redding as well as Southern California.
ByDesign will conduct operations as ClearPoint beginning on May 1.
“This merger combines our agencies’ respective strengths in credit counseling, housing counseling and financial education into one organization with national presence but a local focus,” ByDesign says.
The merger may mean some expansion of personnel and new offices in the Central Valley, the organization says.
ClearPoint, also a nonprofit, was founded over 30 years ago and is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, HUD-approved housing counseling agency, and a Better Business Bureau nationwide accredited business
ClearPoint will remain headquartered in Richmond, Va., and the ByDesign Los Angeles office will become the organization’s Pacific Region office.
